This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Dayanand Jha. You will live forever in our memories and hearts. Dayanand Jha (29/12/1945- 31/8/2015). He was a renowned scholar, archaeologist, social scientist & activist.

Dayanand Jha (1947-2015) is a broad based scholar with interest in various field. His analyses encompassing such diverse field ranging from Philosophy, Religion, Archaeology, Sociology and Poetry that earned him immorality. He was man of action. 

During his student days he was a disciple of Achraya Vinoba Bhave and had opportunity to work with Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan during 1970s. He raised the issues of development of Kosi region not only in India but in several international platform also. He shared about great Vidushi Bharti (wife of Pandit Mandan Mishra) with late PM Indira Gandhi in 1974. He worked proactively for the overall development of holy place of Goddess Tara, Mandan Dham, Kosi Dam and the Mahishi. In this regard he was in regular contact of Govt, Media and the Shankaracharya of Kanchipuram particularly. 

His life synonymous with Nishkama karma as explained by the Bhagvata Gita, as he sent a very simple life and lived throughout his life for the welfare of the society. He enjoys a distinguish place in the galaxy of scholar in the Mithila. His research work related to Vedant, Mimamsa, Goddess Tara, Lord Buddha, Shankaracharya and Mandan Mishra are authentic and seminal. He worked several decades with Archaeological Survey of India. ASI considers his works as framework and useful for the further studies. Today there cannot be any discussion and debate in these issues without reference to Dayanand Jha. 

His work were manifold regarding social justice in the Kosi region, Survey of Mandan Dham ,Veda Pathashala at Mandan Dham. and campaign against Liquor, Balipratha and cow slaughter.
